Reservation of Seats:
1. 15% for SC and 7.5% for ST candidates with relaxed qualifying norms. Some SC/ST candidates, who do not qualify in JEE-2009, may be offered admission to the Preparatory Course of one-year duration provided.
(i) seats are available, (ii) Candidates satisfy minimum norms, and
(iii) Candidates have not undergone the Preparatory Course earlier. Candidates successfully completing the Preparatory Course will be offered direct admission to the first year in the academic year 2010-11.

IIT JEE 2009 Eligibility

any one has to satisfy ALL the eligibility conditions given below:
He/she can attempt JEE only twice, in consecutive years. Those who have appeared in JEE in 2007 or earlier are not eligible for appearing in JEE-2009.
Candidates appearing in JEE-2009 should have either passed the qualifying examination in 2008 or should be appearing in 2009. They should also satisfy the specific eligibility criteria in the qualifying examination. Candidates who have passed the qualifying examination before October 1, 2007 are not eligible to write JEE-2009.
He/she should meet the age requirements given below.
For General and OBC categories, only those candidates whose date of birth falls on or after October 01, 1984, are eligible to appear in JEE-2009. For SC, ST, and PD categories, candidates who were born on or after October 01, 1979, are eligible.
Candidates must produce this certificate in original as a proof of their age at the time of counselling, failing which they will be disqualified.

IIT JEE 2009 Pattern of Examination
Question Papers

There will be two question papers, each of three hours duration. Both the question papers would consist of three separate sections on Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics.
Questions in these papers will be of objective type, which are to be answered on a specially designed machine-gradable sheet (ORS - Optical Response Sheet) using HB pencils only. Incorrect answers will be awarded negative marks
IIT JEE 2009 Application Form
1. A candidate can submit application either on-line through internet or off-line through paper application.
(A) Off-line: A candidate can buy an application form with information brochure from any one of the designated branches of banks by paying Rs. 500/- for SC/ST/PD/Female candidates (Yellow Colour envelope) or Rs.1000/- for all other candidates (White Colour envelope).
The Information brochure contains details regarding application procedure, syllabus of JEE, examination centres, courses available at various institutions, counselling, fee structure and other relevant information about JEE-2009.


On-line: For online submission of applications, visit any of the websites given below and carefully follow the instructions given therein.
Application material can also be obtained, by sending a demand draft along with two self-addressed slips, from the "Chairman, JEE", IIT Bombay, Mumbai-400 076; IIT Delhi, New Delhi - 110 016; IIT Guwahati, Guwahati - 781 039; IIT Kanpur, Kanpur - 208 016; IIT Kharagpur, Kharagpur- 721 302; IIT Madras, Chennai - 600 036. IIT Roorkee, Roorkee - 247 667.
The demand draft of amount appropriate to category/gendermust be drawn on any Nationalised Bank in favour of "Chairman, JEE" of the respective IIT payable at the corresponding city. Candidates applying from abroad should remit the amount in Indian Rupees. Application material will be sent by Ordinary Post. IITs will not be responsible for any loss or postal delay.
